Dave Meltzer of F4WOnline.com is reporting that Cain Velasquez was quietly released from his WWE contract during the recent talent cuts that were publicly announced. Velasquez, who reportedly hasn’t been seen training in Orlando as of late, hasn’t wrestled for the company since the Crown Jewel PPV. Meltzer noted the following:
“They haven’t used him since Saudi Arabia. He was on a giant contract so yeah, that’s pretty much it. It was a multi-year deal. Just like everyone else he signed a giant deal and one of the thing about those deals is they have the right to cut people.”
Meltzer added that AAA could possibly bring Velasquez back and there was also some interest from AEW.
